The Encore Fund The Encore Fund is the major fund-raising vehicle for The Centre. The Encore Fund, which is administered by The Centre at Kerikeri, a not-for-profit charitable company, plays a critical role in supporting The Centre. There are various ways you can help. Individual benefactors from throughout our community can ensure the long-term financial security of The Centre at Kerikeri through major gifts and planned gift arrangements to the Encore Fund. For corporates, supporting performing arts at The Centre is more than just a good deed — it’s good business. Corporate gifts and sponsorship programmes can be structured to pay real dividends for your company. Benefactors from throughout our community can ensure the long-term financial security and sustainability of The Centre. Contributors make a lasting impact on the performing arts with gifts to the Encore Fund. Your gifts to the Encore Fund are tax deductible. Because the Encore Fund is part of a bona fide non-profit charitable company, registered under the Charities Commission, your gift can be fully deductible for income tax purposes. How can you contribute? Annual Support Pledges • Encore Circle: $1,000 to $2,999 per year for three years. • Headliner Circle: $3,000 to $4,999 per year for three years. • Concert Circle: $5,000 or more per year for three years.
Gifts to the Endowment Fund The Encore Fund has established an Endowment Account and individuals or companies contributing $10,000 or more in cash or kind may specify that their gifts will be directed to the Endowment Account. The key difference with the Endowment Account is that contributions to this Account will be held in medium to long-term investments, and the principal will not be touched. Only income earned from the Endowment Account’s investments will be used to support The Centre. In this way, your gift will keep giving in perpetuity. This enduring legacy will ensure the long-term viability of The Centre and its performing arts and other community programmes. The Encore Fund’s Endowment Account accepts gifts of cash, shares and bonds, property, insurance policies, and other marketable assets. The fair-market value of such gifts is generally tax-deductible, subject to the provisions of the Internal Revenue Department code. Bequests Bequesting all or a portion of your estate to support The Centre is an effective way to leave a lasting legacy, and to sustain The Centre’s performing arts and other good works in our community. The Northland Community Trust has been set up specifically to support worthwhile local causes through bequest funding, including The Centre. Gifts to the Northland Community Trust can be undirected, to be distributed at the discretion of its trustees to the various local causes it supports, or you may direct all or any specific portion of your gift to support the Centre (or any of the other local causes you wish to support). Your attorney will have the necessary details regarding the Northland Community Trust. If not, we will be able to provide information. Acknowledgment of Your Gift Your support to the Encore Fund will be acknowledged by way of the following benefits: • Recognition by way of a listing of key donors’ names in The Centre’s “What’s On” publication, which is distributed weekly to patrons. • Access to advance-sale tickets, best available seat locations and (subject to promoter acceptance) concession-level ticket pricing when available. • An Encore Discount Card, which will entitle the donor to discounted bar pricing, and courtesy discounts for conference or events hall hire charges. • Invitation to Special Functions, including pre or post show cocktail receptions, guided tours of The Centre’s facilities, and an annual supporters dinner.
